A flipped classroom is described as the opposite of a normal day in the classroom. Instead of being lectured in class, students are assigned to watch recorded lectures for homework and complete their follow up assignments in class. This method is a mixture of direct instruction and constructiveness that is meant to ease students' workload and create a more fun environment in the classroom that will help students reflect more. There are often misconceptions that flipped classrooms lead to a lack of involvement/teaching of the instructor; however, the teacher is not replaced by online activities and lessons, like some people think.

Open resources are those that educators and students can use freely to learn and instruct information. Open education brings more opportunities to all learners with resources that are under public domain and not restricted by copyright laws or access barriers. These open resources increase equity, keep information relevant, save money, and empower teachers.

Working on the two PowerPoint assignments, I learned how to implement relevant animations and transitions into my presentations. I also learned how to hyperlink buttons and record my voice into the slideshow, which was helpful to know how to do. I liked how I could use the curriculum I would like to teach into my presentation.

  1. I agree with you that online activities do not replace the position of teachers in the classroom. As teachers, we should take the advantages of online resources to facilitate students learning. Open education resources are one of the best choices. Today, the only thing that impedes our learning probably is our own motivation.
