Some Web 2.0 tools that will be helpful in my classroom include blogs and YouTube. Blogs may assist in engaging students to be more creative in their writing and encourage students to start discussions on their lessons and activities. Blogs may also help teacher professional development for discussions and collaboration on topics. YouTube may assist teachers on relaying information to students through visuals and interesting videos.

An interesting Web 2.0 tool that I would use in my classroom is Twitter. Students will be able to learn how to practice proper social media by interacting with their peers and the twitter world. Post class discussions may be conducted on twitter, which will create an environment of collaboration for students in a more exciting approach. However, there are no restrictions on twitter, which may create issues if students post inappropriate tweets.

The technology advancement that I believe holds the biggest promise for education is YouTube. Whether you're a teacher wanting to gain insight for workshops, or a student who needs extra help solving a math problem, YouTube is able to help people in all aspects of the education world. The wide variety of visuals that YouTube offers is extremely useful for education.

  1. Creating a group discussion is definitely a great experience on Twitter and this can expand to the whole world instead of only bounded in the classroom. Youtube is a great resource but it does not provide any quality check and it may introduce a lot of problems if people don't know how to use it for educational purpose. That's why we were discussing how to evaluate web resources.
